What I love about young children is their imagination and creativity, “I can do anything”! When I went to an all girls high school the car stickers read “Women can do anything!” Think about all those things you wanted to do and achieve and despite it all somewhere along the line, well meaning friends, family or your own self confidence and argument said you couldn’t.
Why Do People Quit And Give Up on Their Dreams? Chasing a dream requires effort, habitual change, persistence, focus and a plan. Unfortunately most people expect to fail before they even start or at the first hurdle throw their hands up in despair and walk away forever reminiscing that of what could have been.
To achieve a dream requires sacrifice and responsibility. It needs to be forefront in someone’s mind. Everyday dreams I see in my immediate family is the dream to be accepted into medical school. With my brothers’ passion, persistence and constant effort to improve from previous year’s entry result I am assured he will reach that dream. Sure it might take a little longer than planned but he hasn’t given up.
Another unlikely dream was my girlfriend’s dream of a flying license. Flying lessons are expensive, the training is intense and hours required demonstrates commitment. And wow when she got it we were so proud!
On the other hand I know people who wanted to go to university but never bothered to apply because they said it was too hard to get in or too expensive. I have met people who whinge about jobs but never do anything to relearn something new because its too hard, got no money and don’t have time. How many of you won’t put in the time to learn something new because you don’t see the results immediately?
I still have a dream to travel more or even better work overseas. It would be easy to say, I can’t, I have a mortgage, I have two kids, I can’t leave family support network, how can I afford it. But I wont because opportunities come up every day and I know it will happen. I still have a vision of the Eiffel Tower with my twin girls wearing matching berets in a classic Instagram Shot.
What dreams have you not given up on?

I can totally see you abroad! I would love to travel full-time but it would require leaving my husband. He loves being a full-time musician here in Vegas. So that dream has been smashed because a bigger dream came along. But we live long so there’s always retirement right?
