INTJ MastermindThe other week I had to sit through another team building two day workshop with the intention of how to better work together in the workplace. I sat their silently screaming asking why do I have to complete one more psychometric questionnaire labeling me a certain type of something with some kind of behavioural analysis. I mean seriously you could probably get more information faster by reading my star sign and Chinese year horoscope (Aries and Monkey by the way).

So as I filled in my multiple choice, calculated the score and sat back to be notified of what box do I fit in today for the Myers-Briggs psychometric questionnaire I was secretly accepting the of the personality type given to me: Calling all INTJ Masterminds.

  • Introversion (I)
  • Intuition (N)
  • Thinking (T)
  • Judging (J)

It may be slightly narcissistic of me but I quite enjoyed learning the INTJ Mastermind result. So as I sat back into my chair and watched the group around me, I impulsively rubbed my hands in glee and an almost chuckle escaped my throat as I settled into my new discovered role. So what does one naturally do? They Google INTJ personalities to add to my horoscopes.

  • The INTJ personality type is one of the rarest and most interesting types – comprising only about 2% of the U.S. population (INTJ females are especially rare – just 0.8%), INTJs are often seen as highly intelligent and perplexingly mysterious. INTJ personalities radiate self-confidence, relying on their huge archive of knowledge spanning many different topics and areas. INTJs usually begin to develop that knowledge in early childhood (the “bookworm” nickname is quite common among INTJs) and keep on doing that later on in life.
  • INTJs are very decisive, original and insightful – these traits push other people to accept the INTJ’s ideas simply because of that sheer willpower and self-confidence.
  • INTJs dislike rules and artificial limitationsintj

So I am not sure if I fully fit the image of a complete Mastermind figure but there are some parts of the type which did resonate. It also reassured me that right now I am not in my chosen career – I hate being told what to do – and I need to get my butt into gear to take my business to the next level.
