Christmas is just around the corner and I know in the back of most people’s mind are thoughts of all the delicious foods and desserts of the holiday season. With that being said, many are also wondering how they can eat up all the yummy food without gaining any weight.
The good news is that you can. You can certainly enjoy the holiday spirit in moderation if you put your mind to it. I encourage you to give yourself the gift of health this Christmas season, as you focus on keeping a healthy and sensible eating plan during the holidays.
How to beat the holiday weight gain with some Christmas Health Tips
What does that look like?
It certainly does look like baking Christmas cookies and desserts for the family and friends and feeling free to eat some of your favorite treats. The key is moderation and being sure that you are eating healthy foods at the same time.
The art of balance
You can certainly indulge in glorious holiday meals and Gramma’s ultimate Christmas cake, but learn the glorious art of balance. Your body needs a certain amount of calories per day, so if you stick to under that amount you will be fine.
Let’s say you need 2,500 calories per day. Commit to eating one fruit and one vegetable everyday. More is better but let’s keep it at one for this example. Cut out unnecessary junk foods that you eat out of boredom. You have to plan how you are going to get those 2,500 calories per day and at the same time ingest healthy foods.
Many health conscious people who want to have liberty to indulge in some treats during the holidays have found that concentrating on eating healthy for breakfast and lunch works well for them. Come dinner and dessert time they feel like they can splurge a bit more.
For example, if I am planning on attending a holiday party, I might eat a banana for breakfast, a light salad for lunch, skip soda’s and snacks for the day, and then come time for dinner and dessert I feel as if I can eat whatever I wish without feeling guilty. Of course I would not stuff myself because it is no fun to feel like an overstuffed turkey, but I will delight in some good food and friends!
Other avenues to health
Along with the art of balancing diet, you can also purpose to exercise regularly during the holiday season. Commit to some sort of exercise 3 to 4 times a week, as this will simply be great for your mental and physical health. Who knows, you might come to enjoy the benefits so much that you continue your exercise regimen permanently.
Be sure that you partake in some sort of relaxation through the season as well. Do whatever it is that relaxes you: take a bubble bath, pray, meditate, get a massage, or go take a walk in nature. The holiday season can be full of hustle and bustle so it is wise to have a plan in place so that you do not get caught up in it.
Give yourself the gift of health this holiday season and continue on afterwards. Becoming more health conscious will empower you in so many ways. You will benefit not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
A full body cleanse is simply a good avenue to improve your health. Health experts report that a healthy colon equals better health and in order to get a healthy colon it is important to eat healthy and do a periodic full body cleanse. Otherwise known as detoxing, a full body cleanse flushes out toxins in the body. Toxins enter a body in various ways, such as through certain types of food and the environment. Everything from pesticides to cigarettes have toxins in them and the longer you are alive, the more toxins build up in the body.
When the colon gets clogged up with toxins, the gastrointestinal function is not up to par and it can leave people feeling sluggish. It can also contribute to various illnesses and diseases. Many health experts believe that a strong, healthy colon is necessary for good health.
Cleanses Improve Digestive Function
Doing a detox not only removes harmful toxins from the body, but it also increases regularity when it comes to bowel movements. With such a massive amount of unhealthy food being consumed by people, there tends to be a significant waste build up in the intestines and colon, which can often lead to constipation. If fiber intake is low, there is an even greater chance of constipation. If a body cleanse is done periodically, the waste buildup will be reduced and bowel movements will be smooth sailing.
Full Body Cleanses Optimize Health
For optimal health, it is important to perform a body cleanse in intervals throughout the year. As toxins build up in the body, various organs are affected. Toxic overload in the kidneys, liver, colon, and lungs can leave one feeling extremely tired, moody, and even agitated. Just as people change the oil in their car for optimal performance of the engine, so should people cleanse their colons for optimal performance of their bodies. Once you have completed a body cleanse, your organs will be able to function better and you should feel more energetic and be less likely to become sick.
Improve Your Look
Some colon experts in the medical field report that between 5 and 40 pounds of waste can gather in the colon. That is a lot of weight to carry around that is not necessary. If you do a body cleanse, much of that waste and some excess water will be removed, resulting in weight loss. You may even find that your belly looks flatter and is not as bloated, which is surely to make you smile.
A full body cleanse can also improve the complexion of the skin, as the skin releases toxins during a cleanse. Some forms of acne are said to be the cause of toxin buildup in the colon, so a detox may improve the complexion of the face.
Before doing a full body cleanse, make sure you research the topic so that you understand the basics. You don’t want to do anything that would harm you. There are plenty of books on the topic that give simple instructions and point you to reputable products. You can always seek a naturopathic doctor for a consultation as well. In fact, many natural or organic health food stores offer detox services for a fee.
As you embark on your journey of cleansing your colon, keep in mind that adopting a healthy diet will do wonders for your entire body. Avoid junk food and sugary drinks. Reach for healthy snacks and drink plenty of water. By doing so, you will have less toxic build up and feel more energetic in general.

A passionate woman going through her 40’s and 50’s is on an adventure of self-discovery. She ought to live a purposeful life and do more exploring inward for her well being, and not solely rely on her “outward” appearance. Women need to know that they can age gracefully with passion and beauty. She will become a new and empowered woman, more self-aware and wise.
There is a misconception that women should not look sexy after a certain age. Why not? Living a healthy lifestyle and catering to hair, makeup, and clothes can help a woman to feel confident. There are also many kinds of cosmetic surgery and professional hair stylists that can ensure that a woman wears her age well.
Of course aging women do not have to feel the need to dress as the youngsters do, but there are plenty of sexy, stylish clothes that women can wear in their mid-life years that suit them well. Passionate women can still look after their well-being with good taste without resorting to excessive skin baring attire. Clothing and dressing style should accentuate the parts of her body of which she is proud of. This will fill her with renewed confidence. Passionate women in their forties and fifties can be extremely alluring and attractive if they accentuate their sexuality in a dignified way.
A passionate woman turning fifty can mix classic styles with some trendy accessories to give a radiant and appealing look. The key idea for the well-being of an older woman is that she should remain conscious of herself and at the same time remain aware of the coming years. Adopting a simple but attractive style says it all for passionate women in their fifties. Most importantly though and more than clothes and accessories or makeup, it is a woman’s mind that can create a feeling of eternal youth.
Passionate women who are aging do not need to sacrifice their sex appeal, just because they are on the way to becoming a grandmother or are proud grandmothers. There is no point in withering away at this stage and watch the youngsters have all the fun.
Maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit is the main key to well-being. The passionate woman should follow all the guidelines of diet, exercise and checkups to handle the physiological and psychological issues that may come with aging. Though aging is inevitable, she can still embrace her sexuality and passionate nature to remain young forever.
Do you realize that most New Year’s Resolutions are made with the pledge to eating healthier and lose weight? It is probably not a shocker that within one month of making those resolutions that efforts subside and people continue on with their unhealthy lifestyle. They say they want to eat healthier and exercise, but are not willing to pay the price.
It is easier to eat unhealthy foods. Most people opt to grab cookies over celery and a Big Mac over tofu salad. It is also easier to sit around the house rather than to get out and walk or engage in some form of exercise on a daily basis. But easy does not get you very far. Easy gets you overweight and feeling sluggish.
We get it that exercise and healthy food is important, but we don’t want to really commit to changing our lifestyle. A friend of mine always says, “When the pain gets great enough, you’ll do something different.” What that means is that when you get sick and tired of feeling sluggish and carrying those extra pounds, you’ll do something different. You have to reach a point of no return so to speak. You have to be motivated to really make a commitment to doing something different to get the results that you want.
It’s a fact: exercise and eating healthy is wonderful for your physical and mental health. What better incentive is there? Don’t you want to feel good? Look good? Take care of yourself? I believe that you do. I believe it is possible. I do believe that you can.
Make a Commitment
I’d like you to do something for me. Make a commitment to take 30 days to change things up. Make a commitment for 30 days to eat healthier and exercise at least 4 days per week. You don’t have to become a vegan, but I do want you to introduce healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables into your diet on a daily basis and eliminate some unhealthy foods. I also want you to commit to exercising in some form for 30 minutes a day 4 or 5 days a week.
Find a Partner and Challenge yourself
I also want you to find a family member or friend to commit to doing this with you. It will make it easier to partner with someone in this endeavor. For 30 days PURPOSE to do something different. PURPOSE to become healthier. If you need motivation, get some. Read stories of others who have gone from unhealthy and overweight to healthy and slender, listen to motivational speakers, and invite your friends to encourage you.
Get recipe books out that have healthy recipes and try your hand at cooking lighter meals. Join a gym or a local Zumba class. Form a neighborhood walking party. Do something!
I believe that anyone can eat healthier with a firm commitment to change. I believe that in 30 days you will develop healthier patterns that will continue on past that 30 day mark. You will prove to yourself that you can change and live a healthy lifestyle. Begin today. Take the 30 day challenge.
And if you want some extra help with your 30 Day challenge try the Money Back Guaranteed Isagenix 30 Day Nutritional Cleanse. Highlighted daily in the media there is a constant expectation for people to achieve happiness through “having it all” through extreme addictions, wealth and beauty. Whereas in my experience I believe that happiness can be narrowed down to five factors: partnership, family, home, career and health. What I would like to demonstrate to you, is for you and I to be happy all you need is a balance of my five factors of happiness.
The first essential factor identified was Partnership. A stable, supportive long-lasting relationship has been shown to improve people’s health, wellbeing and longevity. Unfortunately if you believe what the one years Australian Women’s weekly reads finding the right partner is most of the battle. In this article the top-end single male market was limited to 100,000 by criteria that subtracted the unemployed, low
-income single men. So with a population of equivalent 400,000 women meant a competition of 1:4. Now without going through the statistics of marriages and divorce rates I can equate Partnership with two other factors Family and Health. Depending on your priority a successful or unhappy Partnership will impact your family and/ or health.
The second essential factor identified was Family. I was brought up with a family unit of one set of parents and a number of siblings. However today’s example of a family can mean a number of things; i.e. single parents or no children, same sex couples or single with your dog? A recognised problem in today’s’ society is the low birth rates. While the average couple may achieve the Partnership factor and spend time on their career and to buy a home the family factor to have children can cause major stress which is reflected in the health and conversely impact on the relationship.
The third essential factor identified was Home. It is cited that home ownership plays an important role in defining Australian society. High levels of home ownership have taken on a symbolic role, reflecting opportunities for Australians as well as providing important benefits for their families. Concern has been expressed in recent decades about whether home ownership rates have been falling and whether it is harder for Australians to achieve the ‘great Australian dream’. I can reflect at this point as most people in my age group are saving up for that house deposit. Another important determinant of levels of home ownership is housing affordability—whether households have sufficient income to purchase a dwelling, taking into account the cost of houses and the cost of borrowing. Consequently home ownership is correlated to income as represented by your family and career factors.
The forth essential factor identified was Career. What is the difference between a job and a career? Both pay the bills but a career is a conscious strategic progression building on your skills over time. The importance of ones career has been highlighted as Generation Y enters the workforce. This cohort is known to only stay in one job for only a few years before moving up the career ladder. Impact of you career includes availability of professional jobs, high skill development, cost of higher education. You spend more time at work than with your family and friends which means happiness at work is an important aspect of ones life.
The fifth essential factor identified was Health. Heath and happiness can not be ignored. World Health Organization (WHO) described health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease.”The major health problems in Australia arise from long-term conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, cancers, and mental illness. Furthermore obesity prevalence among adults is increasing. The good new is that Australians are gaining a better understanding of their own health and how to maintain it; the science and practice of prevention and treatment is continually advancing. Health is an important factor to our happiness which can impart on our earning capacity and response to our partnership and family.
I can illustrate the five factors of happiness as a symbolic star. A successful partnership equates to family and longer health. A family gives you a support network which creates a house into a home. Security of owning that home and financial wealth is intricately linked with a career that is both challenging while pays the bills. In turn depending on how you position your career can cause stress or peace of mind affecting your overall health. With that in mind a number of people surveyed for this speech (which included family and friends) I can conclude that equilibrium is very hard to manage. Most people prioritise these factors due to preference depending on personal goals and stages of their life. For an example career and home is my priority this year.
Do you agree or what factor of happiness would you change?
Today my twins and I played movie stars for the day. 🙂 What fun we had to pizazz a little Isagenix video testimonial about how Isagenix has changed our lives. I confess my journey with Isagenix has only just began and no I am no where near the high income earners of the company but I do mix with a pretty good crowd. Don’t they say, “mix with the people you want to become.” 🙂
The wonderful Isagenix video on Enterprising Women was just a little overwhelming for me and I wanted to reach out to the mums and dads who may have not tried the product or network marketing before. Let’s pause the dream of earning a Million dollars, lets just start with the mum or dad who just wants another $100a week residual income instead of trading their hours for dollars? The whole idea of a residual income is a brand new concept for some. Examples include rental income from investment properties or dividend income from shares. With Isagenix you can also earn a residual income every week depending on your goals, effort and motivation. So enjoy! I hope you enjoy it as much as we had fun making it.
