If you see me madly cutting around my head with imaginary scissors, not to worry, I don’t intent to look crazy, I am just cutting the cords of attachment from all the negative and rude people I meet in the day to day of my life. I learnt this technique at one of the meditation classes many years ago. It is called “Cutting the Cords of Attachment” and now it has turned into a little habit that both N and I share.

Just quickly if you have no idea what I am talking about, cord cutting is a term to describe the energetic threads that link people together. Energy cords are invisible cords of energy going from you to other people and from them to you.

Some of these cords are positive (partner, family and friendships) complimenting positive relationships but most often they can be harmful and negative (ex-partners,unhealthy relationships ) and unless you use techniques like meditation to sever them, you have energy cords attached to you that you do not need. However a quick and easy technique in case you do not have time to meditate (like me) is visualizing and cutting with your fingers. Simple.

Perhaps I have taken it to the extreme because as soon as I feel angry or feel negative about someone (friend or foe) I get out those scissors and start cutting away.

Some of my most memorable cutters include:

• To the Community Health Nurse who I called at work to reschedule an appointment because A) I was home alone with twin newborns, B) It was pouring with rain and C) did not think I could cope packing up the babies, three trips to the car, driving across town in the rain, unpack the car for an appointment on my own. To my disbelief the lady was unkind and the appointment was cancelled. Cut.

• To the Manager at the Ella Bache store. I had a gift certificate given to me on my baby shower. The certificate was saved within the valid date. I selected a beauty treatment. I organized a babysitter weeks in advanced. I went to the salon for a luxury that I no longer take for some relaxation. After the consultation my gift card was not accepted. No money was on the card (mistake from the purchasing store). The company would not honour the card and quote, “I don’t care you have just had twins, it is $80.” Cut Cut

• To that person at work who stood at my office door after returning to work two weeks early when my twins were only 4 months old because I believed my work was valued and important but was “too busy” to see me for a few more week and often asks if I A) can attach a document to an email, B)convert a document into PDF and C) Do Track changes. CUT CUT CUT

Feel better now.

I am trying to find an active Women’s Investment Club in Brisbane but so far my search has resulted in none. The only references to clubs I can find are obviously closed clubs for a select group of women. Investing in shares and property is something I am very interested in but it does not appear to be of common interest to my immediate circle of friends. Investing is not about how much money you earn in your day job or how many degrees you have. It is about been financially independent so you can give up that day job to do what ever you really want and with this theme is a little story of my foray into shares.

I inherited a modest portfolio of shares from my parents. In 2007 I transferred the portfolio into a margin lending facility and commenced building up the portfolio by gearing. I researched the market on the Internet, learnt how to read basic graphs and fundamentals, tried to keep abreast of the news by newspapers and magazines and subscribed to a few good newsletters. I soon became quite passionate about my share portfolio as the dividends came in and the portfolio grew.  But I borrowed money a year before the GFC and the market bottomed out in a matter of days. Like most, I was over geared and my portfolio had too many risky companies.

Even though I tried to transfer my savings into the account, sell some of the shares and was even embarrassingly bailed out by my generous parents, my portfolio was mostly liquidated from about 15 companies down to five lonely companies. What a lesson I learnt. Over the next year my interest in shares dwindled, as I did not think I could recover. I read about what happened in the GFC and why and accepted I too had made mistakes but fortunately I had no debt but to my parents (which I promise to pay back). Then things started to rise again.

Extract Resources, a uranium company saved me. I bought 5000 EXT shares when they were $0.96. These shares by some fortune were not liquidated and I kept them. Today they are $9.40 (High: $11.45) a share and if I had not sold them while they were on the way up I would have made a nice $40,000 profit today. However I did sell them in three equal tranches while it was going up and diversified the portfolio into my less risky blue chip companies as my tolerance to risk has waned. Likewise I have started using my margin facility again but more conservative than I did a few years back. So here we go again.

The rise of Extract Resources

Forget the Vision Board. I am going to create a Vision Wall. Perhaps a bit ambitious but on the third level of this house is a room where we have set up my office. The computer faces french doors that lead out to the backyard and to the left of the French Doors are some blank bricks. Perfect to design a wall to wall Vision Board. I have asked N to find me a huge pin board where I will try to cover it with fabric before positioning it. Then picture by picture we are going to create it together.

The first image I think I will place is a map of Australia. Lately we have been talking about taking a year off and travelling around Australia. I was inspired by a colleague at work who did just that with her husband and two dogs. They put their jobs on hold and rented out their house and off they went. They met many families also on the road. I was told to budget for about $150 a day so over ten months equals a lot of savings. Nether-the-less, I have asked the Universe and now I just need to believe and wait for it to provide.

On Friday night I attended the book launch, by spiritual healers and Clairvoyants, K and Dr Michael Taylor, for their first book, “Dating the Messenger, The Untold Story of a Clairvoyant.” I met K and Michael back in June 2008 when they were holding psychic parties on weekends. Who would believe a short 20 minute reading for $35 would change my life. K invited the party to the weekly meditations they held at their home in Waterford. I was a little lost, sad and lonely at the time and I had been thinking that I would enjoy the benefits of meditation but I only thought it was something very religious people did while chanting. But the universe must have heard, as this opportunity arrived as I requested so without being able to negotiate with any family or friends to come with me, I went on my own.  I remember arriving at the unassuming brick suburban house for my first meditation. That night it was only myself and another lady who I have met many time since. A still have my journal with the first entry of that meditation which is now filled to the end with stories, drawings, numbers and interpretations of what I have seen since. Meditation has transformed my life as over the next two years I laughed and cried, learnt how to silence my busy brain, and made new friends as we travelled through the universe meeting Angels and Spirit Guides, ET’s, met ourselves in past and future lives, had magical healings, met with spiritual animals, and was just part of all the magic created and facilitated through K and Michael.

Like the book, I loved returning to these meditations as I was intrigued by K and Michael’s storytelling, the stories of the clients they meet, the odd and inspirational conversations with spirit, never ending work with the community and just being part of their business as it grew. Plus I was doing my own soul searching in my own life and meditation and meeting a community of people all on the same journey just seemed to fit.  A meditation these days is no longer the intimate group of four but has grown into two rooms with barely a seat spare and I expect it to grow to many more. I have only had one reading by K as I knew I had homework to do to sort out my life and I was comforted to know that this was also a theme in the book, Dating the Messenger. Everyone wants a quick fix to their relationships, financial, career and health problems but what differentiates these people are the ones who will do the yard yards to work on themselves.

After watching “The Secret,” Tawna decided to test the theory with action by blogging her journey with the Law of Attraction. I am absolutely loving this!  Changing my frame of mind and losing weight = perfect!  I have always struggled at both in the past but am not struggling anymore, especially with the weight loss.  I don’t want to rewrite my big long post with my measurement chart here so if you would like to see what I have done and my exact inches then click over to my weight loss blog.

I still have ups and downs with myself but it is coming along nicely.  You know what I am gong to do today, seriously?  I have not changed my summer for winter clothes yet and need to start that today.  Instead of keeping the “fat” clothes around I am going to donate them.  Seriously!  What good is it to keep them around because with the way I am changing I will NOT need them again?  So long clothes.  I truly believe that if we hang onto them then we are telling our subconscious we will need them again and I refuse to go down that road again!

Last week I sent another Twitter call out to #LOA readers for another Law of Attraction in Action story. I received a lovely response from Juliana Joie from www.JulianaJoie.com.

I live the Law of Attraction. Whenever I notice I’m not feeling good, I shift my thinking to gratitude, joy, or love.  I could tell you about my body’s healing miracle or other awe-inspiring stories, but you might not take them seriously or believe they’re accessible to you. I want to assure you that you can manifest miracles, but for today, I’ll share about something a little closer to home–parking.

I always get excellent parking spots. I always have. At Chili’s, there’s a front row area that regularly has 1-3 excellent spots available.  I watch with puzzlement as others park in the side lot and ease my car in front of the door.

This also happens at Texas Roadhouse, where I practically have a personal spot. Once, a friend was driving, and I told him to slow down because the spot would be there, but he didn’t believe me, passed it by, and went on to park in the side lot.

Now I silently request excellent parking spaces, visualize them, and know that they will appear. There is no stress as I head into town because I know the parking will be effortless.

Why do I share this?

Because abundance is waiting for you. For me. For all of us.  We get to choose to have the front-row spot or to park further away. We get to choose to have a life full of joy and gratitude and love or to focus on something else.

The parking lot is an equal opportunity playing field. Each person in each vehicle can choose the parking space wanted.

If you enjoy a healthy walk, by all means, savor it.  I’ll be the rock star in front of the door.

Ok so boldly I best start my new blog with a list of my hearts desires and ask the universe what I want today.

1. Finances:

• I currently earn $200,000 a year.
• I won $500,000.
• I have a $1million share portfolio.
• I have a $2million property portfolio.

2. Home:

• I own a new family home on semi acreage with 4 bedrooms, study, 2 bathrooms, 2 lounge rooms and a gourmet gas stove kitchen. A deck wraps around to capture the sunlight for a peaceful time to read or enjoy a glass of wine at night. Our home is a place with family dinners by the fireplace and a lounge big enough to put up a nine foot real Christmas tree. At the back is a double shed for N and his cars and a pool to swim in at summer. A huge old tree stands tall ready for a new tree house which N is already making plans. We have a herb and veggie garden with sweet greens ready to be picked. Our home is warm and wonderfully ours to grow and be happy.

3. Relationships:

• We got married on a beach destination wedding. Moana and Adelaide will wear gorgeous while baby flower girl dresses and we will have two weeks to ourselves by the lagoon in a beachside villa.

4. Health and Body:

• I am gorgeous and healthy. My post pregnancy belly and bottom are sexy and slim.

5. Work:

• I am a successful business women who thrives on problem solving and project management.
• I own my own company.

6. Creative Expression:

• I am an Author of a successful book.
• I am an Artist with paintings in local galleries.

7. Travel/Adventure

• We have packed up the house and travelling around Australia in a caravan for one year.
• I have been offered a job overseas and we move and work in another country for a few years.
• We holiday in Europe.

8. Spiritual

• I have expanded intuitive awareness.

9. Special Intention

• N owns an auto mechanic workshop and it is very successful.

10. Gratitude

• I give thanks by tithing to my immediate friends and family.
• I give thanks to the community by managing special projects in awareness in mental health and children charities.

I trust that what I want; I will receive. Now the journey begins…
